Earl Grey tea is a tea blend with a distinctive flavour and aroma derived from the addition of oil extracted from the rind of the bergamot orange, a fragrant citrus fruit. Bergamot is a small acidic orange. The latest research indicates that the Bergamot orange is a cross between the sweet or pear lemon (Citrus Limetta) and the Seville or sour orange (Citrus Aurantium). The sour orange is native to southern Vietnam, hence the Chinese connection. Our Earl Grey starts with a great quality, large leaf, sweet black tea from China. We add just a hint of pure bergamot oil to create the famous Earl Grey taste.
Brewing Guide: Earl Grey requires one teaspoon per person and should be brewed for three to four minutes. This tea has a light refreshing taste, and can be served hot with or without milk or sugar. It can be used to make iced tea.
