Description: Wusa is the ancient name of Weining Yi and Hui and Miao Autonomous County, located in the western border of Guizhou. "Roasted tea" is an original way of drinking tea by the Wusa ancestors, which originated in ancient times and is a unique national and folk tea culture in Weining.

The craftsmanship and tasting method of Wusa roasted tea can be called the "living fossil of tea culture". The word "roasted" is the soul of Wusa tea, which is a different taste and sensation from making tea. Wusa uses pollution-free ecological leaves on the banks of Caohai Lake as the raw material.

The earthenware pot is placed on the stove to heat it. The temperature of the charcoal fire must reach 700°C when making tea. After adding the tea leaves into a pot, the tea maker keeps shaking to bake the fragrance of the tea, then pour it into boiling water and cook it slowly. When the bubbles dissipate, the Wusa tea with a strong plateau mellow is finished. This kind of roasted tea has the quaint "bean fragrance" and the sweetness of green tea. Drinking it quenches thirst and refreshes the brain, and smells it refreshes. People sitting around the firepit, as if traveling to prehistoric times.

Wusa has a distinct and uniquely enjoyable taste, it is has a lot of benefits too.

1. Ideal for caffeine sensitivities
While other traditional Chinese green teas are only pan-fired after being harvested, Wusa tea leaves go through an additional step during which they are roasted at high temperatures. All green teas go through the steaming process to prevent the leaves from oxidizing. This ensures that the tea leaves retain their natural green color, scent, and nutrients, a key process for producing sencha green tea. The additional roasting of the leaves creates the warm, brown shade and toasty aroma of Wusa roasted green tea.

The roasting process does not affect the tea’s health benefits but instead burns away bitterness and caffeine. Roasted green tea is wonderful to drink after meals or in the evening. Wusa is also a favorite of children and the elderly, who tend to be sensitive to caffeine.

2. Relives stressful days at the office or at home
Wusa provides a sense of relaxation, aiding in both physical and mental health. While the warmth and savory aroma is calming, it’s the presence of L-Theanine that contributes to Wusa relaxing effects. L-Theanine is an amino acid present in green tea that can ease symptoms of stress, depression, and anxiety.

3. Keeps your skin looking clear and youthful
Vitamin C contained within Wusa roasted green tea works to lighten dark spots on the skin that are caused by acne scars and also to undo skin damage. Vitamin C can also lighten the dark spots caused by age, as well as prevent wrinkles and restore the elasticity of the skin that is lost over time.

4. Fights colds and keeps your immune system strong
Green tea is known to boost the immune system. The polyphenols that green tea contains have antiviral properties that assist in killing bacteria. Wusa roasted green tea also contains vitamins (Vitamin A, C, and E) that are known to fight against the common cold, regulate the immune system, prevent scurvy, and even reverse the effects of a compromised immune system.

5. Supports a happy and healthy heart
The catechins in green tea help regulate blood pressure and cholesterol. This lowers the risk of cardiovascular diseases, strokes, and inflammation of major arteries. But that’s not all – green tea also contains Vitamin E, an important component, which aids in preventing blood clots.

6. Boosts your metabolism while helping with digestion
Catechins found in Wusa roasted green tea boosts the body’s metabolism, which promotes weight loss and increases your body’s calorie use, leading to fat burn.

Brewing Guide: We recommend using glass-based or porcelain teaware. Rinse tea cup and teapot with hot water. Use about 2 grams of tea leaves (1 teaspoon) for every 400 ml of water. Steep tea leaves in hot water 80°c (176°F) for 1 minute for the first and second brewing. Gradually increase steeping time and temperature for subsequent brewing.
