Description:

This organic tea from Tian Mu mountain is of the finest quality. One of China’s top ten teas, favoured by the Emperors in the Ming Dynasty (1368- 1644), Tian Mu Qing Ding is exceptionally light and fresh – not surprising when one considers that it grows in a nature reserve in the Tian Mu mountains in the East of Zhejiang province. This is an area is known for its beauty, clean air, small mountain lakes and abundant waterfalls. The area benefits from the perfect conditions for growing tea: it is moist, not too warm, has just the right amount of rainfall and has very fertile soil. Bamboo forests interspersed with an occasional ginko tree surround the tea gardens creating not only an idyllic landscape but also ideal natural shade for the tea plants. Literally translated as "Green Peaks of Tianmu Mountains", our high-grade Qing Ding lot offers the tea lover an opportunity to enjoy a wonderfully aromatic and flavorful tea.

Very close to the sky, that tea blooms on the slopes of the "green peaks of the mountain". Its long, flat leaves exhale an intense scent, its luminous liqueur finds its balance between accents of grilled chestnuts and herbal notes, combined with fruity hints. A fresh, enticing leaf appearance, a fresh aroma and, once cupped, a captivating, enduring flavor. The leaves are long and elegant and a fresh green color. It was grown organically and has a fresh clean taste.

The taste is nuanced, naturally sweet and will linger with a soft mouth feel. Tian Mu Qing Ding is harvested a bit later than most high-grade green teas. Fired in wicker baskets, the tea is slowly heated accentuating and preserving its sweet notes. It will brew to a clear, light-yellow liquor. Our lot will provide the most discerning tea drinker a satisfying, naturally sweet cup with a very nice & lingering mouth feel in the finish.

Brewing Guide: Use between one and two teaspoons of leaves per cup of 75-85 degree water (167-185 fahrenheit) for up to one minute. Increase the steeping time for each subsequent brewing.
