Product Overview

There is no pollution since it sits directly against beautiful greenery that cleanses all uncleanliness away at a height of 1800 meters. This high mountain tea is highly prized by tea connoisseurs in Taiwan, since the higher the altitude at which the tea plant is grown, the more complex and interesting its aromas and flavors will be. The colder temperatures slow the growth of the tea plant and increase the concentration of aromatic oils in the leaves. In addition, the abundant cloud cover and thick fog filter sunshine for most of the day, allowing the leaves to produce more intense flavors while tempering the bitterness that can result from too much sun exposure.

Our Ten Li oolong is incredibly smooth with notes of tropical fruits, sugarcane and citrus. Intense floral aromas of honeysuckle and hyacinth are long-lasting. The liquid has a pleasantly viscous texture reminiscent of buttercream. Ten Li has lighter oxidization with a mix of floral and fruity notes. The top notes are mostly fruity, with a bit of peachy sweetness. This transitions into a sharply floral middle note, with citrus blossoms taking center stage. The taper is sweet and understated.

When the tea soup cools after brewing, it will condense and sweeten. It's a treasured Taiwanese high mountain tea.

Brewing Guide: We highly recommend brewing Li Shan Oolong gongfu style to appreciate its many layers of flavor. The oolong may be prepared in a regular teapot, an Yixing clay pot, or in individual cups. Use about 1 tsp. per cup (8 oz.) of water heated to 80-90°C (176-194°F). Infuse for 2-3 minutes and pour off. The leaves may be resteeped 7-8 times.
