This exquisite loose leaf Taiwanese oolong tea is made from the very finest, heavily-roasted tea leaves which have been infused with the deliciously revitalizing oils of ginseng. The wonderful combination of oolong tea and ginseng creates an exceptional infusion that is very enjoyable.
To create ginseng oolong, the tea leaves are mixed with ground ginseng root. This allows the natural flavors and nutrients of the root to infuse into the leaves.
There are generally two types of Ginseng Oolong available to purchase, one Chinese style and one Taiwanese style. Chinese style Ginseng Oolong has rolled leaves that are completely encased in powder, making it not easy for the leaves to fully open. By comparison, Taiwanese Ginseng Oolong is made by introducing Ginseng powder during the rolling process, so it is incorporated into the rolled leaf. The ginseng powdered herb is incorporated during the rolling process, which means the leaves can open fully in order to produce balanced flavors over a number of infusions.
This is an exceptional Taiwanese oolong tea that imparts a delightfully floral and sweet flavor, which gives way to crisp notes of roasted nuts, tingling mint, and a lingering and pleasant aftertaste of ginseng.
