Ban Tian Yao also translated as 'halfway to the sky', this medium-bodied oolong was originally found growing on the rocky flanks of the Wu Yi Mountains. It ranks 5th in Wuyi Rock Teas which become famous as early as from Song Dynasty (960_1279). It belongs to small arbor, middle leaf type, and late maturing species.

To Enjoy: Place one teaspoon per cup into an infuser, filter or teapot. Switch the kettle off, before it boils, when you hear the water rumbling. Add the hot, but not boiling, water and infuse for 3 minutes. Serve immediately or remove leaves to prevent spoiling.
