Description: The leaves of this green tea are rolled into the shape of little pinhead pellets resembling gunpowder, hence its name. It is made from camellia sinensis plant. It’s one of the most popular green teas in western countries. Its origin is the Chinese Zhejiang and it has a very unique and recognizable leaf shape and flavor.

Gunpowder tea is one of the best examples of everyday affordable tea that will never go out of fashion. There are different grades of Gunpowder tea, and just like any other type, it can be made from younger or more mature leaves, from different harvests and in different regions. The leaves of this green tea are rolled into the shape of little pinhead pellets resembling gunpowder, hence its name. Gunpowder green tea tastes bold & lightly smoky, also lending to its name. Gunpowder tea leaves stay fresh longer than any other green tea leaves due to their compressed form. Gunpowder green is higher in caffeine than most other green teas (35-40 mg/8 oz serving) and is commonly used by athletes to improve endurance over periods of 3-6 hours.

The combination of jasmine and green tea creates a flavored tea that still allows you to experience the taste of the green tea, but also enjoy a floral flavor and aroma. Our Crab Eye Jasmine Pearl tea is a treat for the green tea lover – an act of poetry, fine green tea leaf and bud sets are rolled into “pearls” that are then scented with fresh jasmine flower blossoms. With a touch of caffeine, jasmine green tea awakens your mind and blooms your senses.

Brewing Guide: Fill infuser or tea ball with ¾ teaspoon loose tea and place in a mug. Bring water to a boil and let cool slightly to 80° C/175° F. Pour eight ounces into the mug and brew for three minutes. Remove infuser.
