Product Overview

This unique spring black tea is produced from the oolong cultivar Jin Mu Dan. The cultivar was originally from Fujian and its leaves were used to make oolong teas. This tea is grown in Fuan County in Fujian province and processed as black tea. Fuan is a county-level city of Ningde prefecture-level city, in northeast Fujian province, it is known for its tea production.

Crafted with Fujian black tea-making techniques, our Golden Peony stands out as one of the most flavorsome in our black selection. Golden Peony was in twitted shape by using tea leaves of 1-2 leaves, which are picked only in the Spring season. The most suitable tea leaves are from local Fu’An tea trees. After picking it is meticulously processed by hand using the traditional “Gongfu” processing techniques, and then fully oxidized. The Golden Peony black tea has beautiful long leaves, evenly shaped with a dark, glossy color.

The honey-colored liquor is fragrant and sweet with complex flavors of butternut squash, orchids, and stewed plums. The rich, full-bodied sweet taste with a hint of caramel will undoubtedly fulfill your tea senses. While not containing as much caffeine as coffee, its moderate caffeine and lively taste are perfect to give you a good boost to get you started in the morning.

Brewing Guide: put 5 grams of tea in a teapot, then pour 85-90°C boiled water into the teapot. standard steeping time is 30 seconds. With a short steeping time, the tea will be light and sweet, perfect to drink plainly. With a longer steeping time, we advise adding milk, honey or lemon. This tea can be brewed for several rounds.
