Product Overview

Bitter melon is a plant. The fruit and seeds are used to make medicine. Bitter melon is used for various stomach and intestinal disorders including gastrointestinal (GI) upset, ulcers, colitis, constipation, and intestinal worms. It is also used for diabetes, kidney stones, fever, a skin condition called psoriasis, and liver disease; to start menstruation; and as supportive treatment for people with HIV/AIDS. Topically, bitter melon is used for deep skin infections (abscesses) and wounds. Bitter melon is used as a vegetable in India and other Asian countries and as an ingredient in some kinds of curries.

This tea is made with premiumtieguanyin is an exciting and unique offering in that it manages to preserve the entire spring flower and fresh grass essence of the original leaf, all while tempering the flavor with darker, more grounded notes. The aroma of the dry leaf hints at both licorice root and melon, with potent wheatgrass notes that evoke early summer.

Strangely enough it's not bitter at all, the bittermelon rind after roasting commingles with the Tie Guan Yin(Anxi) forming a lovely balanced sweet dark oolong goodness! The wet leaf takes on a potent and tangy quality, like ruby port wine.

Individual packaging, each piece is roughly 7g-10g.

To Enjoy: Place one bag of tea per cup into an infuser, filter or teapot. Switch the kettle off, before it boils, when you hear the water rumbling. Add the hot, but not boiling, water and infuse for 3 minutes. Serve immediately or remove leaves to prevent spoiling.
