Product Overview
Milk GABA Oolong Tea is made from the Jin Xuan tea cultivar, a variety well known for its naturally soft, creamy and sweet character. Through a special GABA processing method, the tea develops a smooth and mellow profile while retaining the distinctive qualities of Jin Xuan. Once brewed, the leaves release a gentle milk-like aroma together with a soft roasted fragrance and subtle sweetness. The aroma is delicate rather than overpowering, blending naturally with the tea’s own character to create a warm, smooth and comforting cup.
The first impression is soft and fragrant, followed by a mellow and rounded tea flavor. The liquor is smooth and full-bodied without being heavy, with a gentle sweetness that develops gradually in the mouth. The creamy character of Jin Xuan combines beautifully with the mellow character created through GABA processing, giving the tea a distinctive balance between aroma and taste. The tea has relatively low bitterness and a gentle overall character, making it easy to enjoy even for those who prefer smoother and less astringent oolong teas.
One of the most distinctive features of this tea is the harmony between the Jin Xuan cultivar and GABA processing. Jin Xuan naturally offers a soft, sweet and creamy character, while the GABA processing gives the tea a rounder and more mellow taste. In the first few infusions, the creamy aroma is more noticeable, while later infusions gradually reveal more of the tea’s natural sweetness and mellow oolong character. As the tea cools slightly, the aroma can become even more noticeable, with the creamy fragrance blending into a soft and lingering sweetness.
Unlike strongly roasted oolong teas with pronounced charcoal or roasted notes, this Milk GABA Oolong Tea has a gentler and more approachable style. It is not dominated by strong floral or fruity aromas either. Instead, its character is centered around a soft creamy aroma, mellow tea fragrance, smooth texture and gentle sweetness. The tea still retains the depth and character of oolong tea while offering a particularly soft and easy-drinking profile.
GABA Oolong Tea is produced using a specialized tea-making process that gives the leaves their distinctive character. Combined with the Jin Xuan cultivar, this process creates a tea with a smooth aroma, rounded body and comfortable finish. It is well suited for everyday drinking, afternoon tea or slow, relaxed brewing when you want to enjoy the changing aroma and flavor through multiple infusions.
Brewing Guide: We recommend using water at around 90–95°C (194–203°F). This tea can be brewed in a gaiwan, small teapot or glass teapot. Use the amount of tea according to your preferred strength. A quick rinse before the first infusion can help open the leaves. For the first few infusions, use a relatively short steeping time to bring out the creamy aroma and delicate Jin Xuan character. As the leaves open and the number of infusions increases, gradually extend the steeping time to develop a fuller and richer flavor. For a lighter cup, use a shorter steeping time; for a stronger and more full-bodied cup, use more tea leaves or extend the steeping time. The tea can be infused multiple times while maintaining its smooth aroma and gentle sweetness.
