Product Overview

Huang Guan Yin (Yellow Goddess of Mercy), the newest member of Wuyi Yancha family, is a cross-bred/hybrid tea varietal developed by the Tea Research Institute, Fujian Academy of Agricultural in 1980s. It is a hybrid of two teas: Tieguanyin (Iron Goddess) and Huang Jingui (Golden Osmanthus). Iron Goddess is celebrated for its fantastic aroma, while Golden Osmanthus is remembered for its sweet, honeyed taste. This Huang Guan Yin black tea marries the two.

The tea leaves are fully oxidized to create a dark and flavorful black tea. The broad open leaves of this tea are roasted and dried by the heat of an earthen oven wood-burning fire. This tea brews bright and malty with rich brown sugar and fruit notes with a lingering sweetness. It concludes with a fruity, sweet lasting finish.

Brewing Guide: Bring fresh, filtered water to a boil. Add 5 grams of tea to an infuser, or straight into an 8-oz. mug. Pour the heated water into the mug. Steep for 3 minutes. Strain tea leaves, or take out the infuser. Sip and enjoy.
