Guizhou Ruby Black Tea

Grows along the high mountain slopes in Guizhou province. Guizhou Province located in China's southwest besides being rich in natural wonders and ethnic minority culture is an important production area for tea. Tea trees require warm humid weather with alkali soil and Guizhou, located in a subtropical zone has ideal conditions for the production of tea. Until recently Guizhou's teas have been rarely available outside of the province because all of the best teas were consumed by locals. Now more and more of Guizhou Province's wonderful teas are becoming available outside the province making tea connoisseurs sit up and take notice.

Ruby Black Tea is produced in Fenggang County in Guizhou Province, from a high mountain with an altitude of about 1200m. It is a favorite among Guizhou residents. This Chinese black tea takes advantage of a preserved environment and natural farming practices to offer us pure and gourmet liquor.

Its tightly rolled deep black leaves are replete with a flowery aroma. Once infused, they unfurl to deliver a beautifully round and smooth cup with dark amber liquor. The smooth, mineral profile has notes of red fruits and a lightly tangy, stony aftertaste. Because it is ball-shaped the leaves stay fresh longer and lend themselves to enjoying multiple fragrant infusions. This rare tea is a must-try for black-tea lovers who relish the fresh, mellow, brisk and sweet taste of Chinese black tea which is much lighter than its Western counterparts.

Brewing Guide: The water used to steep this tea should be at the boiling point. Use about 2 teaspoons (3 grams) of tea leaves for about every 5 ounces (150 milliliters) of water. A steeping time of about 3-5 minutes with more or less time is recommended depending on the desired concentration.
