The name “Early Whisper” conveys a gentle and natural aromatic expression. This tea is crafted in a fine broken-leaf style, composed of a high proportion of tender bud fragments blended with small leaf particles, along with a light presence of jasmine blossoms. While the appearance is less about whole-leaf aesthetics, the quality remains refined. The abundance of bud material contributes to a softer, smoother mouthfeel, while the retained jasmine flowers add a touch of authenticity and liveliness to the aroma.
The broken-leaf structure offers several practical advantages. With a larger surface area, the tea releases its fragrance and flavor quickly upon infusion, delivering an immediate and expressive cup. The flavor profile is also more consistent and forgiving, less sensitive to precise brewing techniques, making it highly suitable for everyday use. In addition, the extraction tends to be even across multiple infusions, avoiding sharp bitterness or imbalance. These qualities make Early Whisper a highly approachable yet well-crafted tea.
Sourced from traditional jasmine tea regions such as Fujian and Guangxi, the green tea base is processed using standard techniques before undergoing controlled jasmine scenting cycles. When brewed, the liquor is bright and clear with a light yellow-green hue. The jasmine aroma rises quickly—fresh, soft, and natural. Brewing Guide: Due to its fine broken-leaf form, a slightly adjusted approach is recommended. Use approximately 2–3 grams of tea with water at 80–90°C. The first infusion should be very short—around 5–10 seconds—to capture the fresh aroma while avoiding over-extraction. Subsequent infusions can be gradually extended by a few seconds each time. It is also well-suited for simple mug or glass brewing: add hot water, allow a brief infusion, and drink directly, refilling as needed.
Because of the small leaf particles, using a filter is highly recommended for a cleaner cup. A fine-mesh tea strainer, an infuser basket, or a filter-lined teacup or mug works particularly well to prevent sediment in the liquor. For gongfu-style brewing, a gaiwan paired with a fairness pitcher (cha hai) and a strainer can help separate the fine particles, ensuring clarity and a smoother texture in each pour.
