Product Overview
Guazijin tea is an oolong tea belonging to Wuyi Mountain. It is one of the top ten rare and famous clusters in Wuyi. It is native to Beidou Peak and has been cultivated for nearly a hundred years. Guazijin got its name because its dry leaves are narrow and shaped like melon seeds. Although Guazijin tea is not as famous as other Wuyishan oolong teas, there are a group of loyal fans who love Guazijin tea only because of its unique taste and mellow taste.
Generally, only one bud and two leaves, and at most one bud and three leaves are selected for the Guazijin tea leaves picked around May, which can fully guarantee the quality of Guazijin. From the appearance of the leaves of Guazijin tea, the shape of the oval shape, the color of the leaves is a beautiful spring green, and the buds are mostly light purple. This oolong is less oxidized and lighter roasted than other Wuyi oolongs such as Da Hong Pao.
Once infused, the carefully roasted leaves give off generous fruity, woody and floral scents. Some people say that its aroma is the aroma of fried melon seeds. The tea's liquor is golden-yellow. The infusion is velvety and sweet honey, and aromatic notes of roasted nuts and spices develop to complement the initial scents. The mineral mouth feel of the tea is light and airy, surrounded by a wispy fragrance.
Brewing Guide: Place 1 teaspoon of loose leaf tea in a gaiwan or teacup. Heat water to between 95 and 205 degrees Fahrenheit and pour into the gaiwan. Steep for 1 minute. When steeping is done, strain the tea and enjoy!
