Positioned as Level 2 in our 12-grade hierarchy, Summer Breeze represents a refined balance between artisanal craftsmanship and everyday enjoyment, offering a graceful entry into the world of premium jasmine tea.
The name “Summer Breeze” reflects the spirit of the Awakening stage. The tea is crafted to evoke the feeling of a gentle summer wind drifting through a quiet garden, carrying with it the delicate fragrance of blooming jasmine. Unlike the deeper and more velvety character of our higher “Soul” and “Ultimate” grades, Summer Breeze highlights freshness and tranquility. Its charm lies in its bright floral lift and clean, calming finish.
This tea is sourced from respected tea gardens in Fujian and Guangxi, regions long known for their jasmine tea heritage. Carefully selected green tea leaves are first processed through traditional steps—withered, fixed, and rolled—to preserve their vivid green color and lively character. Fresh jasmine blossoms are then layered with the tea leaves in a carefully controlled environment. For this grade, the scenting is conducted with a measured number of cycles to ensure that the floral fragrance remains graceful and balanced, enhancing rather than overwhelming the natural sweetness of the tea base. After the scenting process is complete, the tea is gently dried to lock in the aroma of the jasmine, and the spent flowers are removed, leaving only the refined fragrance within the leaves.
The dry leaves are slender and needle-like, displaying a vibrant green hue that reflects their careful processing. When infused, the tea releases a natural jasmine fragrance that is fresh and lingering, yet never heavy. The liquor is bright and clear with a subtle yellow-green glow. On the palate, the texture is smooth and silky, where gentle grassy undertones mingle with soft floral sweetness. Compared with the entry Level 1 grade, the flavor is noticeably cleaner and more refined, while remaining lighter and more delicate than the richer teas found later in the Bloom stage.
Within the Jasmine Odyssey, Summer Breeze represents a harmonious midpoint—more sophisticated than everyday jasmine green tea, yet still approachable for daily enjoyment. It captures a moment of quiet balance, offering a soothing experience that refreshes the senses much like a soft summer wind.
Brewing Guide: To best appreciate its delicate floral oils, we recommend using about 3 grams of tea for 200 ml of water at a temperature of 80–85°C (176–185°F). Avoid boiling water, as gentler heat preserves the sweetness and fragrance. The first infusion should steep for about 30 to 60 seconds. This tea reveals its character gradually and can be infused three to four times, each infusion unfolding another subtle layer of its calm and refreshing Awakening profile.
