This Tongmu Old Bush Lapsang Souchong is sourced from the core Tongmu area of Wuyi Mountain, Fujian. The tea is made from leaves harvested from mature, old bush tea trees that grow slowly in a high-altitude forest environment. With deep root systems and long growth cycles, these old bushes accumulate balanced internal compounds, resulting in a naturally gentle and refined flavor profile.
Unlike traditional smoked Lapsang Souchong, this tea is produced using a completely non-smoked process. No pinewood or smoke is used at any stage of production. The craftsmanship focuses on controlled withering, moderate oxidation, and gentle drying to preserve the tea’s natural sweetness and softness. The finished dry tea features coarse, thick leaf strips, firm and substantial in hand, with a dark brown, slightly oily appearance—an expression of mature leaves and rich inner quality.
