Product Overview

Type: Oolong
Origin: China
Description: Ye Lai Xiang means fragrance of the night, and is named after the Tuberose flower that blooms at night giving off a very strong scent.

Ye Lai Xiang is one of our most exciting rock teas. It has been cultivated on the Wuyi Mountains for 200 years now — an elegant, two times roasted oolong. The Wuyi Mountains are situated in Fujian Province, China. With its more than a thousand-year-old history of tea cultivation, and approximately 200 different subgenera of the tea plant, Camellia Sinensis, the area is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mountain’s volcanic nature reappears in the character of the tea: fiery, vitalizing ambiance and strong chaqi.

The deep, woody scent is followed by a fine, almost silky flavor, after which the volcanic mountains’ fiery characteristic soon becomes prevalent, both in taste and chaqi.

The aroma is delicate and slender like ginger, with a unique and excellent aroma. Taste clear alcohol belt specific, soup orange or light yellow, red edge obvious, main veins obvious, leaf teeth thin, is a rare species. It convinces with a complex, slightly volatile and everchanging mouthfeel. The pronounced, caramel-sweet roast note harmonizes with a fresh, fruity note reminiscent of ripe peaches with a hint of orchid. The resulting aromatic compound lingers on the gourmet’s palate for a long time in the aftertaste of the tea.
