Product Overview
In 2007, after more than ten years of research on tea varieties at the Dianhong Tea Science Research Institute in Fengqing, the production phase of a rare tea called Chinese Red. Every year, 6 types of cultivars are selected, from which the best leaves are subsequently selected. These six cultivars include Meizhan, Huangdan Qingshuihe, Ziquan, Sijichun and Baxian Number 4. In China, this type of tea enters prestigious competitions every year, and its financial value is above the standard of ordinary tea lovers.
The institure originally wanted to use the high aroma of Darjeeling black tea, but later changed it to blend with Meizhan and other oolong tea varieties to seek a floral and fruity aroma similar to Minhong.
Our Zhong Guo Hong comes from the spring harvest collected in the mountains of Fengqing County, Yunnan Province. The dry leaves are rolled in the shape of long needles, the aroma of which is full of fruity accents.
The infusion color is orange amber, the taste is silky, condensed, essential, and sweet. The blend encapsulates the notable deep forest wildflower character of Yunnan black tea. This China Red is a very decent Dian Hong, sweet, fruity, and nutty. It is pretty aromatic, the pleasant fragrance lingers long in the steeped leaves, in the liquor, and in the bottom of the teacup.
