Product Overview

This wild black tea was hand-picked and expertly rolled from premium quality leaves and fresh, succulent buds in Yunnan, China, each spring.

Our wild black pearls are a rare spring-harvested black tea, grown and harvested in Qianjiazhai village, in a wild, mountainous and misty region. The tea trees are a Camellia sinensis assamica cultivar, grown at an altitude of 2100 meters. Then the tea is hand-picked and expertly rolled from premium quality leaves and fresh succulent buds into a large pearl-like shape before the leaves dry.

The resulting large pearls unfurl to dramatic proportions while steeping, revealing aromatic earthy tones of caramelized sugar with undertones of chocolate. After this exquisitely smooth tea experience, you will covet Black Dragon Pearls as the legendary gems they were inspired by.

Brewing Guide: Simply add 2-3 pearls to a cup of hot water and steep with water at about 85-90 C (185-195 F), watch them unfurl.

Brewing guide: Place one tea ball in a clear, medium to large sized glass tea pot or tempered glass pitcher. Pour full boil water into the glass container. Watch for three to five minutes as it unravels from a tiny ball into a beautiful flower-like bloom. Steep the tea for at least 3 minutes. Taste the tea as it steeps to see if it has reached a desired strength then pour all the tea into cups. If you're not going to drink it all, pour it into another teapot where it can stay warm. Leaving the hot water in contact with the tea for too long can adversely affect the taste. You may re-steep this tea for 3 times.
