Product Overview

Yunnan Yu Luo green tea is a notable tea from Simao, Yunnan Province in China, which is renowned for its rich tea culture. "Yu Luo" translates to "jade snail," which hints at the tea's high quality and delicate characteristics.

The raw materials for making Yu Luo tea mainly come from Yunnan large-leaf tea. This tea tree grows in high mountain areas above 1,500 meters above sea level and absorbs sufficient sunlight and rain, producing high-quality tea. It is the first flush picking of this year. During the picking period, tea farmers hand select the tender buds at the top of the tea tree and finally make spiral Yu Luo tea leaves after processes such as withering, rolling, and drying.

Yu Luo tea is very different from other green tea. Most green tea is pan-fried in its green-killing step, but as Yu Luo tea is baked, it looks relatively darker in its green colour, and the taste is relatively stronger, mouthfeel is thicker than other green tea. It is sweet and very unique in its undertones of Puerh’s fruity and floral notes, the taste of it is very long lasting, which can be re-steep for multiple times.

This tea captivates with its exquisite taste and distinct earthy notes. This special production process gives Yu Luo tea have high-quality taste, aroma, and health-preserving effects. Once steeped, the highly aromatic leaf produces a lovely brilliant jade color liquor which is full, and umami taste. This tea is known for its fresh, mellow flavor and often has a subtle sweetness with a hint of vegetal notes. Smooth and full-bodied, this distinctive, easy drinking green tea is gently reviving.

Brewing guide: For the best flavor, it’s recommended to brew this tea at a lower temperature (around 75-80°C or 167-176°F) to avoid bitterness. Steep it for about 1-2 minutes, and you can adjust the time and temperature based on your taste preference. With more aggressive brewing, there is also stronger mineral taste, a marine character, and a slightly more fruity flavor.
