How to maintain the tea set:
With new teaware, suggest cooking the teapot thoroughly till the dusty flavors are gone, then cook the teapot further with the tea that you plan to use in the future and cook it through again.
The more you use the tea set, the darker color it will become. The darker color is not the same concept as stains on the teapot. The flavor from pure authentic quality tea or tea ware won’t give you any flavor problems. Even when it starts to develop flavors due to long time usage, the natural flavors are still very mild and not upsetting. If you clean the tea set with hot water after each use, then you won’t have a stain problem.
If you dedicate the tea set to one type of tea, it will eventually have some fine flavors from that tea, but it‘s not intentionally to scent your teaware.
After each use, carefully rinse it under running water and then let it either air dry or dry it with a soft towel. Avoid cleansing with detergent, or dish soap, certainly not in the washing machine. After use, always let it dry completely, for if stored while still wet, it might develop a damp smell or mold.
