Product Overview
Golden monk fruit is a type of monk fruit product processed using low-temperature drying technology. Compared to traditional high-temperature roasting methods, this process better preserves the fruit's natural active compounds and flavors. The drying process retains essential nutrients such as mogrosides, vitamin C, and various antioxidants, enhancing its natural sweetness and health benefits. Additionally, golden monk fruit helps preserve the fruit’s natural fragrance, preventing the caramelization or overly herbal taste that can occur with high-temperature processing, resulting in a fresher and purer flavor. Unlike high-temperature dried monk fruit, which tends to turn dark brown, golden monk fruit maintains a more natural color, such as golden yellow or light brown, making it more visually appealing. Despite using lower temperatures, this drying method ensures a long shelf life while minimizing nutrient loss.
The production of golden monk fruit follows a meticulous process. First, carefully selected ripe fruits are cleaned and screened to remove any defective ones. To prevent cracking during the drying process due to uneven moisture evaporation, small holes are drilled into the fruit’s shell. These perforations are part of the standard processing technique and should not be mistaken for insect damage or chemical injection, ensuring the fruit remains safe for consumption. The fruit is then dried at a controlled low temperature, typically between 40°C and 60°C, using hot air circulation or freeze-drying technology. This gentle drying process helps retain the fruit’s bioactive compounds while ensuring even dehydration. After drying, the fruit undergoes quality inspection to confirm appropriate moisture content, absence of mold, and overall product integrity before being sealed in airtight packaging to prevent moisture absorption and oxidation, maintaining its freshness and effectiveness.
Golden monk fruit has various applications in daily life. One of the most common uses is brewing it into tea. The fruit can be broken into pieces and steeped in hot water, either on its own or combined with herbs such as chrysanthemum or goji berries, providing a soothing effect that helps relieve throat discomfort. It is also widely used in soups and stews, adding natural sweetness while enhancing the nourishing properties of the dish. As a natural sweetener, it can be used as a sugar substitute in beverages, baked goods, and medicinal recipes, making it ideal for individuals following low-sugar or sugar-free diets. Additionally, monk fruit extract derived from dried fruit is commonly used in functional foods, dietary supplements, and low-sugar beverages, offering a healthier alternative to artificial sweeteners.
It can be ground into powder and used as a natural sweetening agent in sauces, smoothies, and desserts. Some people use it in homemade syrups or herbal concoctions to enhance both flavor and health benefits. In traditional Chinese medicine, monk fruit is often used to balance internal heat, making it a valuable ingredient in herbal infusions designed to support respiratory health. Furthermore, its natural properties make it an excellent addition to energy bars and snack formulations, catering to health-conscious consumers looking for natural, non-caloric sweeteners.
Brewing Guide
Hot Brew Method
- Prepare the Monk Fruit: Rinse the golden monk fruit with clean water to remove any dust or impurities from the shell.

Cold Brew Method
- Break the monk fruit into pieces and place them in a glass bottle or pitcher filled with 500ml-1000ml of cold water.
