Purple Bud Pu-erh is a special variety of pu-erh tea made from the "purple" tea buds of the tea plant, Camellia sinensis. This unique coloration occurs due to a high concentration of anthocyanins (antioxidants that give the buds their purple hue).
The old tree purple bud tea has a distinct flavor compared to regular pu-erh, offering a fruity, floral, or even slightly sweet taste.
