Product Overview

A unique and beautiful tea from Fujian province, China, only the youngest leaves are plucked. Three leaves are rolled together into a spherical bowtie shape and then wrapped in silk mesh and dried by fire to set the form. Each piece is streaked with the pale white down of the young buds.

Bowtie Handmade Jasmine Green Tea is a type of artisanal tea that combines high-quality green tea leaves with jasmine flowers. The tea is shaped by hand into bowtie-like forms, adding a decorative and unique touch. Silver bowtie tea is hand-rolled, shoot by shoot, by skilled craftsmen who produce only 1 Kg each day. Jasmine green tea is known for its fragrant aroma, which comes from the jasmine blossoms that are traditionally layered with the tea leaves during processing to absorb the floral scent.

Watching these small pearls gradually unfold in the water is also visually impressive. Blossoming on infusion, these tea pearls give a liquor with floral notes. Jasmine Downy Bowtie is a light and sweet tea, delicate and delicious. The bowtie-shaped green tea leaves taste similar to white tea-smooth, lightly herbal, and grapey-sweet. The jasmine scent is clean and fragrant with a hint of magnolia. Even when placed directly in a glass and left to steep continuously, this tea will not turn bitter. The low caffeine content and the soothing effect of jasmine make this tea accessible to all.

Brewing Guide: Considering their visual appeal, try brewing bowties so you can watch them unfurl: Place a teaspoon of tea in a wine glass and cover it with hot water, or use a glass pot. We use water around 180°F and steep for two to three minutes, so as not to overbrew the delicate green tea base. You can re-steep it two or three times to get the most out of the intensive floral scenting; subsequent steeps will reveal more of the nutty green tea. Jasmine also takes marvelously to cold and ambient brewing for iced tea.
