Product Overview
Ippodo Tea is a renowned, family-run Japanese tea company established in 1717 in Kyoto. Originally named Omiya, the shop was renamed Ippodo in 1846, meaning “preserve one,” a name bestowed by Prince Yamashina to honor the company's dedication to high-quality tea. For over three centuries, Ippodo has specialized in premium Japanese green teas, including matcha, gyokuro, sencha, and bancha, sourcing leaves from the fertile regions between Kyoto, Nara, and Shiga Prefectures.
