Description: Also known as longevity eyebrow or sow mee, Shou Mei is harvested later & has fewer tips & more leaf than other white teas. Shoumei is a white tea that is produced from naturally withered upper leaf and tips, with a stronger flavor reminiscent of lighter Oolong teas. It is mostly grown in the Fujian Province in China.
The large, green & light brown hued leaves steep to a light yellow-orange infusion. This smooth, earthy cuppa with mellow, nutty notes & sweet finish is sure to delight tea enthusiasts.
This tea is smooth and delicate with plenty of jasmine flavours. A taste sensation for any white tea lover, it combines Shou Mei with the gentle scent of real Jasmine Blossom. Carefully gathered and dried in the early days of spring, this white tea from Fuding in Fujian Province is one of the most revered teas in China. In August, the tea is laid beneath a bed of fresh jasmine flowers for five consecutive nights, balancing the sweet white tea with fresh, fragrant jasmine aroma. A perfect tea for those new to the white tea family. Shou Mei white is a bolder tasting brew, due to using the lower down leaves which are more mature and thus more rich in fruity flavors rather than the more common floral tones.
Brewing Guide: Use 1 tablespoon per 6 oz cup. Heat water until steaming (170º F). Let steep 3-4 minutes. Good for multiple infusions.
