Product Overview
Mi Tao Xiang is a specialty varietal from the Wuyi rock tea family, artisanally processed in light to medium roast oolong tea. It translates literally as a peach fragrance and describes the character of the tea. Mi Tao Xiang Wuyi oolong is characterized by its extraordinary fruity aroma and a subtle fragrance of peach. This oolong is a subspecies of Yancha.
Growing stout and hearty beneath karst rock peaks in Taoyuan cave, Wuyishan’s National Scenic Park, the roots of Mi Tao Xiang oolong tea bushes dig deep into the cracked rock beneath, drawing up concentrated minerality into every leaf.
This is a medium roasted Yancha with large, mainly intact leaves. On the first few infusions, it has amazing acidity, with a light sweetness that lingers in the mouth and throat, developing into sharper floral notes on later infusions. Despite steeping into a rich amber cuppa, the liquor has a surprisingly gentle taste, despite the crisp, bold tones it carries. Those flavors lend a fruity profile that tends to share different mineral and floral elements when resteeped, making for a pleasantly complex cup of tea.
Brewing Guide: Place one teaspoon per cup into an infuser, filter or teapot. Switch the kettle off, before it boils, when you hear the water rumbling. Add the hot, but not boiling, water and infuse for 3 minutes. Serve immediately or remove leaves to prevent spoiling.
