Product Overview
Se Zhong or Se Chung means “colorful variety” and refers to the style of oolong tea made in the Anxi county of Fujian Province in China. Se Zhong is a common beverage in Hong Kong. It is said to be a great value since the yield is high, but the quality is unwavering.
Different from common Se Zhong, ours is an exquisite version of China's most famous oolong tea. The tea leaves are picked from tea bushes grown at high altitudes in the inner Anxi, in a clean and incredibly beautiful and untouched environment and the tea is made with great craftsmanship. The leaves are given a light roll and allowed to oxidize only until the edges start to brown. The tea is then fired which arrests the oxidization process and captures the interesting character associated with oolong tea.
Se Zhong steeps to a golden color liquor with soft floral aromas combined with honey and toasted grain. The texture is lightly smooth, and the flavor combines a roasted sweet character with mild acidity. The aftertaste echoes a mellowed, warm, and woody sweetness.
This high-quality medium-roasted Se Zhong gives a clean and fresh flavor with some sweetness in the aftertaste, and soft herbaceous tones, not as florally scented as many light oolong teas. The roasting creates a bread-like aroma, giving the tea a comfortable balance.
Brewing Guide: Use about 1-1 ½ teaspoons of tea leaves per cup of water. Bring water to a boil and let it cool down to 194-203°F. Brew tea leaves for 1-2 minutes. Re-steep.
