Product Overview
This top-grade matcha is made from the finest first-harvest tea leaves grown in Japan’s premium matcha-producing regions. The young leaves are carefully shade-grown for over 20 days before harvest, a traditional method that reduces bitterness and enhances the natural sweetness and umami by increasing the concentration of amino acids, especially L-theanine. Once harvested, the leaves are steamed, dried, de-stemmed, and finely ground into a vibrant green powder that preserves the tea’s natural flavor and nutrients.
The matcha powder is bright green in color and incredibly smooth to the touch. Upon opening, it releases a fresh, grassy aroma with subtle notes of seaweed. When prepared, it produces a vivid green tea with a soft, creamy foam. The flavor is rich yet gentle, umami-forward with a lingering natural sweetness and a silky mouthfeel. This matcha is ideal for traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, daily practice, or as a premium base for high-end culinary creations.
It pairs beautifully with wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) and can also be used to elevate matcha lattes, desserts, and other fine recipes.
Brewing Guide: For best results, we recommend using water at around 80°C (176°F) and whisking vigorously with a bamboo chasen to achieve a frothy, uniform texture. Store in a cool, dry place away from light, and refrigerate after opening to preserve its color and freshness.
