Product Overview

Our Premium Jasmine Taiwan High Mountain Oolong Tea is a delicately scented tea that combines the rich, mellow character of Taiwan’s high-mountain Oolong with the sweet, floral fragrance of fresh jasmine blossoms. This tea is crafted using premium Dong Ding (also known as "Frozen Summit") Oolong tea as the base, and undergoes a traditional scenting process to infuse it with natural jasmine aroma. The result is a balanced and aromatic tea that is both soothing and refreshing.

The tea base is made from high-quality Dong Ding Oolong grown in the Lugu Township of Nantou County, Taiwan. Located at elevations between 600–1000 meters, this region’s cool climate, misty environment, and significant day-night temperature differences are ideal for producing richly aromatic, full-bodied teas. The tea leaves are handpicked, typically using the one bud, two or three leaves standard. The cultivar used is Qing Xin Oolong, known for its smooth texture and floral undertones. The jasmine flowers used are freshly picked on the day of blooming. Only buds that are just about to open are selected, ensuring the aroma is at its purest and most potent. These flowers are never dried or artificially processed, maintaining their natural freshness and fragrance.

The scenting of the tea is a time-honored and delicate process. Fresh jasmine flowers are layered alternately with Oolong tea in temperature- and humidity-controlled conditions. The tea absorbs the flower’s fragrance over several hours, usually overnight. After the scenting is complete, the flowers are removed and the tea is gently dried. This process is repeated 2 to 5 times depending on the desired aroma intensity and tea grade. No artificial flavoring is used—only natural jasmine blossoms.

In terms of flavor, the Premium Jasmine Taiwan High Mountain Oolong Tea offers a smooth, gentle, and well-rounded taste. The first sip reveals a mild natural sweetness with a soft and silky texture. As the infusion opens up, the notes of the Dong Ding Oolong begin to emerge, creating a warm undertone that complements the light floral sweetness of the jasmine. There is no noticeable bitterness, and the tea finishes with a clean and lingering aftertaste. A pleasant returning sweetness can be felt at the back of the throat, making each sip increasingly satisfying.

The aroma is equally captivating and refined. Before brewing, the dry leaves release a rich and balanced scent—sweet jasmine layered with light honeyed notes from the Oolong. Once infused, the tea emits a bright, elegant floral fragrance that is fresh but never overwhelming. The jasmine scent is clean and natural, gently lifting the aroma of the tea itself rather than masking it. With each steep, the fragrance evolves: the floral top notes mellow into deeper Oolong characteristics like orchid, baked fruit, and a soft woodiness. Even after the tea is gone, the empty cup retains a lingering fragrance—sweet, floral, and comforting.

Brewing Guide: To bring out the best in this tea, it's recommended to brew it using a traditional gaiwan or a small teapot. Use water at around 90–95°C (194–203°F), which is hot enough to extract the flavor and aroma without burning the jasmine scent. For each session, 5 grams of tea per 150 ml of water works well. Start with a 40-second infusion for the first brew, shorten to 30 seconds for the second, and gradually increase by 5 to 10 seconds with each subsequent brew. The tea can be steeped 4 to 6 times, depending on your taste. For a refreshing summer option, cold brewing is also excellent: steep about 6 grams of tea in 500 ml of cold water and refrigerate for 4–6 hours. The result is a sweet, clean, and delicately fragrant tea that’s perfect served chilled.
