Product Overview
This famous high-mountain green tea is from Huilong village, Dachang Township, Lianghe County, Dehong Prefecture. Hui Long village is a mountainous area in the western part of the Yunnan province, near the border with Myanmar. Cool-weather and high altitude make this a late first flush harvest for the area in late April and September.
Freshly sprouted buds and leaves are picked together and wok-fired by hand at high temperatures for a very short time, resulting in an intense aroma in the cup. Huilong Green Tea uses high-quality Yunnan large-leaf tea as raw material. The production process includes withering, killing green, rolling, roasting and shaping, drying, and aroma enhancement, which is called the grinding pot process. According to tests, the water extract of Lianghe Huilong stir-fried green tea products reached 47.5%, the content of tea polyphenols reached 41%, and the content of amino acids reached 3.8%. The content of the main nutrients in tea is generally higher than other similar products of Yunnan large-leaf tea. The short but hot wok firing gives this tea a delightful aroma that combines well with the more astringent and stimulating mouth-feel of this Yunnan green tea. The slightly bitter taste turns into the after-sweet mouthfeel sensation with a hint of vanilla in texture.
The dry leaf has a tightly curled appearance, a bit like Bi Luo Chun but more irregular. It's very fragrant and strong, grassy and somewhat smoky, with a hint of bready qualities. The smell suggests a strong-flavored tea. The flavor is slightly bitter and lightly tangy. Lightly astringent through the sip, but leaving a clean sensation on the palate. Our Hui Long Green Tea is floral and vegetal. This whole-leaf blend of high-elevation teas delivers a classic flavor that’s light and deliciously earthy.
Brewing Guide: For best results, we recommend adding 2.5g of this tea to 250ml of water, that’s 80°C. We would then suggest leaving your tea to infuse for 3 minutes. If you’re looking to serve larger amounts, increase your recipe to fit your teapot or serving size. We advise 1-2g of tea per 100ml water.
